A sprawling Empire that holds duty, honor and martial skill in high regards, where magic and technology are melding in ways not seen in other kingdoms, gave rise to the Fighting Arcanist. These martially drilled and magically trained warriors make up the elite class of combatants within the armies of many of the Empire's Houses.
Trained in the Arcane Sword Schools of the Empire of Dracar, these combat hardened men and woman are quite the sight to see on the field of battle. Skilled in both slinging spells and swinging swords, the Fighting Arcanist is an asset to any company he or she serves with. These skilled arcane swordsmen are able to supplement both themselves and their companions on the field of battle.
As they gain in combat prowess and arcane skill, these warrior mages learn how to empower their companions to help overcome the obstacles they may face.
Their skill in the arcane allows them to use the same magical devices as Wizards and also copy Wizard Scrolls into their books, with the two following conditions. One, the spell must be one of the available spells on the Fighting Arcanist Spell Chart and copying the spell into ther spellbook takes twice as long as they need to convert the Wizard spell into one that can be cast one-handed.
This one-handed spellcasting ability of the Fighting Arcanist precludes the use of shields and thus the Arcane Sword Schools provide no formal or informal training in their use.
Note: This class might be adjusted in gameplay based upon comparative power level between it and other classes. This could mean nerfing or power boosting the class to align more closely with other classes.
Abilities
Cast Arcane Magic: The Fighting Arcanist has access to a limited set of Wizard Spells. This limited list is composed of magic that the Fighting Arcanists have been able to create that can be cast easily with one hand while in the midst of battle. The spell list is limited up to the 5th spell level. (This may be adjusted upwards in gameplay depending upon power level of character.)
Empower Weapon: At 3rd level the Fighting Arcanist is able to empower his/her own or a companion's magical or non-magical weapon with a temporary magical elemental damage. The type of elemental damage is chosen once at 3rd level and is the only kind of elemental damage that the Arcanist can create. This elemental damage includes: Flame, Ice, Acid, and Electricity. At 3rd level, the effect can be created up to 2 times/day, lasts for as many rounds as the Fighting Arcanist has Levels and adds 1d4 Elemental Damage. At 7th Level, the effect can be created 3 times/day, does 1d6 damage and can be made permanent with the use of the Permanence arcane spell.

Armor Allowed: Leather Armor, Leather Coat, Padded, Ringmail, Studded Leather, Chain Shirt, Scale Mail, Chain Mail, Breastplate, No Shields.

XP Chart and BtH: Hit Dice and BtH are the same as the Cleric Table in the C&C PHB, the XP per level is the same as the Wizard XP Chart from the C&C PHB.
