The Snow Elves are an off-shoot of the Sun Elves and live in the icy landscape between the rest of the world and the ages old fortress homes of the High Elves. They share the disposition of the Sun Elves and enjoy the company of humans and tend to get along nicely with their human cousins the Geltian people.
The Snow Elves absolutley love the cold and are apt to play in a first snowfall almost like a human child, especially if they have been living in a warmer climate for whatever reason. Obviously, they won't jeopardize their life or a mission/quest simply because it is snowing, but that won't stop them from juggling a few snowballs and maybe tossing a few at a companion.
General Appearance
A Snow Elf will commonly have pale, almost snowy white skin, irises of a crystal blue and they have hair that matches colors one can see in ice, sometimes all one solid color and other times shades of the different colors. There are some variations, as some have more cyan, instead of a rich crystal blue eye color, a few have silvery crystal colored eyes. Some have skin that has a hint of bluish tones, that one might see hints of icy cool veins underneath.
Like their cousins the Sun Elves, these elves are slightly shorter than humans.
Social Structure
As if taking a cue from their Geltian neighbors, Snow Elven society is almost clannish in makeup. The rigors of living on the icy tundra along with the sometimes difficult to impossible journeys between Snow Elf settlements over the winter months has strengthened bonds between the family units living within one settlement, while simultaneously weakening some of the bonds with other settlements.
What this has lead to are differences in allegiances and beliefs between Snow Elven settlemnts. For example, there are some Snow Elf "clans" that won't deal with the High Elves and others that regularly work as intermediaries for the High Elves in finding and hiring the "Eyes" that bring back stories of events and goings on out in the world.
There are only a few of these High Elven intermediary "clans" and they aren't necesarily the most well liked in the greater Snow Elven society. The consensus is that they just seem secretive and almost untrustworthy, like they are going to run off and tell all of your secrets, in the hopes of pleasing their High Elven "masters".
